FAQ
Frequently Asked Question

Q: How long does this process take?

A: It may take anywhere from three to six months to get your credit looking good. It may vary depending on the number and type of negative items on your credit.

Q: What can I expect while going through your services?

A: You will receive credit reports monthly in the mail showing deletions. These reports will need to be mailed to our office.

Q: What do I do with my reports that I get in the mail from the credit bureaus?

A: Any correspondence that you receive from the bureaus needs to immediately be mailed into our office.

Q: Where do I mail my reports to?

A: Our address is:
100 S Crockett St Suite 200
Sherman, TX 75090

Q: Who should I be expecting reports from?

A: The three credit bureaus are: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.

Q: How often should I be receiving reports in the mail?

A: You should get reports in the mail every 30- 45 days.

Q: Should I wait to get all three credit reports before I mail them in?

A: No, you need to mail in your reports as you receive them.

Q: I have only gotten reports from two credit bureaus this month. Is this normal?

A: Yes. Often one bureau will be behind in sending reports. Not getting a report does not mean that you didn't get a dispute. You may have had deletions even without getting a credit report.

Q: I received a letter stating that my address was not on file or that they need proof of ID. What does this mean?

A: Often, if you have recently moved or haven't used your credit in a while the credit bureaus will need proof of your address. If this happens, mail the letter you received along with a copy of your driver's license and a utility bill with your current address.

Q: I received a letter from the credit bureaus stating that they do not believe the correspondence they received came from me. What does this mean?

A: Often the credit bureaus will send this out to buy extra time on doing your dispute. Sometimes you will receive reports in the mail the next day. If you get this letter don't worry. Just mail it in with your reports.

Q: What if I have an item deleted off one report and not the other two?

A: One credit report may delete an item before the other two. This is a time consuming process. We will work hard to try and have the item deleted off all three reports.

Q: Why don't I see a credit score on my credit reports?

A: Credit reports that come direct from the credit bureaus do not contain credit scores. Credit scores that you pay to get, like from websites, can be very inaccurate. These types of scores can vary by as much as 50 points from a score you would get from a mortgage company.

Q: How can I get my credit score?

A: To get the most accurate credit score have a mortgage company or a bank pull your credit.

Q: How many points will an inquiry hurt my credit score?

A: Every three to five inquiries will lower your credit score 10- 35 points.

Q: Is there anything I can do to help speed the process?

A: There are a couple of things you can do to achieve a higher credit score faster. One is to mail your reports to us as soon as you get them. Also, be sure to pay all your bills on time. A new 30 day late can put you very far behind schedule.

Q: Should I contact the credit bureaus?

A: No. We will work very closely with the credit bureaus. By contacting them you may inadvertently slow the repair process.

Q: How is my credit score figured?

A: There is no set scoring system. For example, there are three different companies, Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. You will have three different scores from each of these companies. Your score breaks down like this:
40% Payment History
32% Revolving Credit History
18% Length of Established Credit
10% New Credit

Q: How do I check the status of my credit?

A: Contact Gary in our office at 903-892-3434.
